The equipment in this industry can be the difference between loving
and hating your job. At both work and at home I'm using Mac Pros with quad-core 2.8 GHz
processors, a couple 500 GB internal drives, external drives at home (for photos and video)
and an obscene 10 GB of RAM. I also bought
a 24" wide-screen flat panel, which
I love – I have the same one at work, but smaller. I'm always on the lookout for a good 5-button programmable mouse, but not super impressed with any of the ones I've tried recently. I'm also using an old Epson
Perfection 1200U scanner and a Fujifilm
Finepix E550 digital camera with a gorilla pod, which is one
of the best tripod inventions, ever.
And I have an 80 GB iPod which is great for tunes but even
better for transferring huge files back and forth between work
and home.
Primarily I use software out of the CS3 suite, most often Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. For audio and video I use Flash, Audacity and iMovie, and I store and catalog my photos in iPhoto.
