Madison

There are a lot of great things about Madison. It's a small town that thinks it's a big city, so there are more resources, cultural events and businesses then are typical for a city with only 200,000 people. To top it off, there's a strong environmental conscious here and lots of year-round recreational opportunities. Lakes surround our downtown area and you can be in the middle of nowhere or in the heart of Chicago in 2.5 hours. If you can get past the fact that there is absolutely nothing open from 3-6 am and the occasional -20 degree temperatures, it may be the perfect place to live.

Julie's Best of Madison

Every year Madison Magazine readers put their vote in for the best dining, shops, entertainment and people around town. While the results are usually pretty indicative of the best Madison has to offer, there's a few categories where they've missed the mark entirely (imho). I thought I'd put my favourites out there to provide some variety and awaken some people to the fact there are better Mexican restaurants to vote for than Pedro's.
