Rob
Beuthling — Our families go way back... our Dads worked together
at the DOT, I think the moms knew each other from nursing school,
and all the kids got to know each other at Parkcrest Pool. Robby,
an active triathlete, has a great site which is constantly updated
with interesting photos, cool travel stories, a blog and a solid
blogroll. Rob also put together a wedding
website when
he married Kris in ’02. Pretty good stuff for an engineer.
Kris & Les Dressler —
Always entertaining, Kris Dressler describes himself as "serial
entrepreneur, a passionate teacher and an engineer to the bone."
In ’05 Dress married
Leslie Rattan in a beautiful ceremony on Lake Michigan. This
year Dress will be pursuing more engineering degrees at Illinois
Institute of Technology and tutoring
tomorrow’s future, Les will be teaching elementary school
spanish, and this summer they will be fending off bears in Alaska
as they circumnavigate Baranof Island.
Andre Ferrella
— "The Living Museum" is a site featuring the work of
a great artist, Andre Ferrella, who I worked with at LifeSketch
in 2001. Andre’s unique organic photographs, films and prints are
amazing and have been exhibited internationally.
Tony Herman
— My fellow co-webmaster when I worked at Full Compass Systems
and the talent behind sites like MadisonClick,
ASM and Princeton
Club,
among a zillion others. See his whole portfolio
at Webstix.com.
Matt McCormick
— In 2007 McCormick quit his posh Microsoft job out in Seattle
to start Barbarian Music,
a site aimed at helping independent musicians make a living while
providing music-fans what they want — cool music.
Mike Mikkelson
— Information systems administrator by day, wakeboarder by weekend,
Big Mike’s techy site has cool travel tales and great videos
which Mike produces himself. Mike
married Katie out in Breckenridge
in 2007 — the photos with the bride with bright gerber daisies
against the white snow are not to be missed.
Nick Olejniczak
— Former UW coworker, blogger extraordinare and
CSS guru, NickO and his wife run
a number of sites. His main gig is with Jellyfish,
a comparative shopping engine, which was bought in 2007
by a little company called Microsoft. We suspect Nick is now
rich.
Deb & Curt
Pederson — Another benefit of working at FoodUSA was meeting
people like Deb Paulsen and Curt Pederson, two mac-owning,
wakeboard-loving programmers, who have since gotten married,
had two children, and created thepedersons.net.
Their site chronicles their lives, featuring many photos, recipes
and a calendar.
