Below are pics and blurbs about my family: Mom, Dad, JenO, JeffO and JackO. These pictures aren't very current - they're old pictures I like.

This pic is of Mom and dad back in '85. My dad has made two or three failed attempts at retiring and is currently the CFO of Navitus Solutions, the new company that processes pharmaceutical claims for state employees. And president of the rotary club. And my personal accountant. =] He's kinda busy. He still finds some time now and then to go hunting and sailing, but not as much as he would like. It's possible his current job(s) will make him enjoy his next bout with retirement enough to actually stick with it more than a few months.

With her last kid now permanently out of the house my mom is doing all sorts of stuff... computer classes, pilates classes, getting involved with city politics and of course there's her ongoing obsession with gardening. And telling me about every marriage and childbirth of every person I've ever known (and many I don't). My parents are also taking spanish classes this year and are using that as a transparent excuse for going to the Canary Islands this spring, so they can "practice".

Having lived in Colorado and Australia, backpacked through Europe, and toured half of this continent, Jen, now 28, has put down roots by purchasing a home in Portland, OR. After spending 2 years there with Americorp, she secured the perfect full-time position with a California-based company called Intrax placing international college students with US companies for summer jobs and career internships. She's constantly running off to ski resorts and national parks all over the Pacific Northwest and Alaska under the guise of student placement opportunities. JenO currently holds the title of Favourite Child, due to the fact that she's in Portland. In our family this is bestowed on the child farthest away from home. Clearly, I'm not winning.

The JenO collection

Jeff, the golden child, graduated from CU-Boulder in Dec. '01 with a degree in IS and promptly landed a job as an R&D NT Applications Manager with Datex Ohmeda in Louisville, 10 minutes from his house in Boulder. Or so he says... I seem to receive a lot of photos of him playing golf. Aside from golfing, he continues to divide his time amongst his computer, his friends, and his dog, Dexter-the-real-deal-care-package-Newman. Jeff's status in the fam continues to swerve between black sheep of the family and favourite child and back, due to his tendency to excel at whatever he's doing, be that golf, work or partying.

The JeffO collection

Jack, now in his mid-twenties, has found himself living in Portland, OR, and working in software development. He lives with his girlfriend Anna, who is a PA student at OHSU. Prior to his relatively recent stint with employment, Jack could frequently be found balancing on cliffs, on a unicycle, or both, juggling, hiking in the mountains, occasionally running long distances, taking cool photos, cooking, voicing his opinions on religion, the universe and society, or climbing up waterfalls in caves, in the dark. If you think I'm exaggerating, check out his blog. Now, in addition to juggling five clubs at one time, he's learning to juggle work with his numerous adventures, hobbies and social life.

This is my favourite family picture of all time. Taken in '98, it captures a typical family gathering. The space on the right is reserved for my father who is running from the camera to the fireplace.
