A LOT has happened in the last month… spring has sprung; I turned another year older, surrounded by chocolate, candles, cards and roses; gardens have been planted; Brew Fest tickets have been purchased and, most notably, my siblings and I pulled off a surprise party at the Overture Center for our parents’ 60th birthdays. Jen and Jeff flew in a day early to help with the preparations, along with other friends, and in spite of that we all managed to clean up, prepare a presentation and slide show, and get the room decorated. The surprise was a success, everyone seemed to have a good time, and the parents‘ are still reeling. It was great to have the whole family together for the occasion and huge thanks go out to all the guests for coming and making it such a fun night! The celebrating continued the next day with a casual brunch at my place for relatives who stayed in Madison overnight and then a really nice dinner with my parents’ neighbors, the Harmses, to celebrate their son Warren’s safe return from Iraq.
