Made it through another February in Wisco

Monday, February 28th, 2005

The end of February brings much joy… spring is in sight, Cancun is only a month away, and Bryan and I are celebrating a half year together. Which, in accordance with the previously established terms of this website, means he may now officially be referred to as the boyfriend.

Fun weekend, take 23

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

There was much to celebrate last weekend… Eric turned 30, Big Mike came into town, Bryan had his first (and possibly last??) experience with the boot game, JeffO went to Essenhaus without police involvement (with both Schroeder and carbombs present, no less), and I got to see all sorts of people I haven’t seen in a while. And it snowed!

Kites on Ice

Sunday, February 6th, 2005

I finally made it to Kites On Ice this year, which is a big kite festival held on Lake Mendota. There were flowers, a bunch of kiteboarders, and lots of kites being flown by other kites. Even some really big fish-kites. Beer and warm soup at an Irish pub ensued, followed by some creative photography. The only downside of the day was being asked "Is that your phone?" and looking down to see my sad little cell phone sitting in 3 inches of water. Fortunately it revived with a little rest and hair dryer action.

Woohoo! Early spring!

I want to work in a tree house

Tuesday, February 1st, 2005

EpicSystems, a local medical software company, is building a new campus in Verona where all 2,000 employees will have their own office, each office building has a theme, and there will be a tree house conference room -sans modern technology- for brainstorming. Which you access by a swinging rope bridge. Add free snacks and no dress code and the fact that they’re hiring web people… hmmm.
