On Friday Tammy, Deb and Air Curt and I went up to Fremont, WI for wakeboarding camp with Gordy Bubolz. The weather was perfect, the water was flat and we all learned a few things in addition to enjoying a great day of wakeboarding. While the price was mildly extravagant to begin with, it was nothing compared to the cost of the new board, bindings and wakeboard boat I’m going to have to buy, now that I’m hooked. Life is too short not to have a tower.

Wakeboard camp
Sunday, August 24th, 2003Just checking in
Thursday, August 14th, 2003The usual summer conundrum applies: lots of interesting babble for the site but no time to update. Of recent note: the Audi is fixed, I have a roomie, I’m going to wakeboard camp, my black & white CO pictures are back but not scanned, – except for one – I got a new driveway, saw ex-roomies Katie, Jessie and Renee last weekend, and purchased Final Cut Express with which to produce my upcoming independent film. Life is good.
Didn’t quite get that flip around.
Thursday, August 7th, 2003Yesterday we went up to my aunt & uncle’s cabin on the Wisconsin River for some wakeboarding, waterskiing and tree-rope swinging. Present were Kev, Cyndy, Brandon and Chris (ooh, arty), Jack, my mom and myself. Great weather, smooth water and yummy food – all good.
Beautiful sunset

Friday, August 1st, 2003In the spirit of the last two Augusts, this month’s news is a list of the top 10 things I learned in July:
- If you want to pick strawberries in Southern Wisconsin do it before mid-July.
- You don’t have to be on a coast to surf.
QuickTime clip / QuickTime clip with audio showing just how dorky our family is (listen for my mom yelling "supergirl") - Unlike with the FJ, my dad is able to pull a 420 out of a death spiral. This is good.
- Don’t throw parties near neighbors with anger management issues.
- Learning to windsurf is much more difficult, painful and frustrating than one would suspect, yet still addicting.
- Big buffalo lurking in the Colorado woods are scary.
- White paint smudges on right-front bumpers of green saturns parked next to me consistent with smashes to left-rear bumpers on my Audi are not considered conclusive evidence in the eyes of campus police.
- You never know what Dressler is going to do, especially if he’s sailing in a regatta with no wind on his 30th birthday. Dressed (ha) appropriately.
- Deb found an awesome recipe for Chicken Tortellini Salad.
- When driving a ‘79 GMC Jimmy towing a wakeboard boat through the snowcapped mountains of
Rocky Mountain National Park, bring extra gasoline. And a tarp.
