We’re back

Monday, July 28th, 2003

No bears were encountered, just a lot of sun, water and zima citrus, which is all you really need in life. Will give you the whole spiel soon but in the meantime here’s a photo of Jack on any given afternoon

Bears are scary

Friday, July 18th, 2003

Headed to Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park tomorrow. Which would be great except that there has been a series of attacks by black bears in the area recently. The place where we’re staying is owned by “Black Bear Rentals”. Should make the morning jog interesting.

hit & run #2

Sunday, July 13th, 2003

Yes, it’s happened again, although the damage is very minor compared to last time. The audi was innocently sitting in the parking lot of the tower of pestilence when someone bashed into the rear driver-side panel. My first mistake was calling a University police officer instead of a city policeman, because he clearly had no interest in his job, my car or the green car next to me which unexplainably now has white paint on it’s passenger side front panel. Nor did he have the correct paperwork to write the accident up properly. Nor did he call or return my phone call inquiring if he had checked into the other vehicle as promised. Thus, another $500 deductible out the window, and my need to return to the corporate world grows a little bit deeper…

July 2003 update

Tuesday, July 1st, 2003

Here we are in July already and I’ve completely missed the June update. Not to worry, not much happened. I worked a bit, didn’t sleep much and partook in OFS (Operation Fun Summer) with Stace whenever possible, including a stellar Wednesday night performance where we out-partied the Vilas crowd. And of course there were numerous wakeboarding excursions, but not enough. Like there could ever be enough.

On the home front, the all-white garden is up and running again, with one purple flower which keeps coming back no matter how many times I cut it down. And guess what’s blooming again… more pictures than you’ll want to look at will follow shortly no doubt. Inside, I finally made some shades and curtains for my bedroom so now I can wake up in darkness and the neighbors can once again look at my windows without fear or promise of seeing more of me than anticipated. I also found my dream home at the Parade of Homes, inside and out, and will be moving there as soon as financially possible. (i.e. never)

If you thought that last paragraph was exciting you should read the 2 June babble entry. Yes, this is my life.

To end on a happy note, real fun and excitement lies around the corner with the annual August fam sailing trip. Although this year we’re not sailing and it’s not in August. Instead JenO and JeffO located a small shack in the Colorado mountains on Lake Granby where we can wakeboard every day with Jeff’s ridiculous boat and the Zima citrus flows like wine. Pictures and independent film forthcoming.
