Wednesday, August 21st, 2002Success!
Thursday, August 15th, 2002I jumped the wake last night!! And did a 180 on my first try! WOOHOO!! So after the best night of skiing EVER, I am now a walking advertisement for a) pylons b) the Rock River c) my boating cohorts (who were all better than me and very helpful) and d) Big Mike’s Ski Nautique boat.
As if that weren’t enough I had homemade pesto for lunch (my best effort by a long shot) with Madison Sourdough bread (yay! it’s back) and Boursin cheese (delish). Also made it to the Club Raven (no comment) to see Curt’s band play (super good) post-wakeboarding. Much-needed refreshing reasons to continue living in Madison.
Bad movie
Tuesday, August 13th, 2002I’m back, but my pics are not. (Ironically they’re at the old Kincheloe Air Force base in Michigan at this very moment, where I was born, but should be in Madison later tonight.) Will wait for the pics before relaying the events of the Olsen Sailing Adventure 2002.
In the interim, I will mention that xXx (had a fun time trying to find THAT site on the web) may possibly be the worst movie ever created. It’s definitely action-packed but the stunts are such a farce that it’s more like watching a video game, which gets a little old after the first hour. Plus there’s so many gratuitous half-naked-chick shots, Matt and Matt were literally giggling like school boys. Super. In all fairness I will say that Vin Diesel is pretty hot, in kind of an abominable snowman type way. And his voice is sexy-fantastic, but what he actually says is just plain unfortunate. This may have been Matt’s revenge for making him sit through all 3 hours of Beloved in ‘98.
