Lake Granby, Colorado

After our exciting sailing trip on the east coast last year, in 2003 we decided to opt for something a little more relaxed for our annual family trip. Due to JeffO's central location and recent purchase, we decided to congregate in Boulder, CO and then head into the mountains to the Lake Granby area, which offers calm lakes, great scenery and far fewer joyful noises. Photos taken by the fam, Courtney, Anil and myself.

After a brief stay in Boulder, we headed northwest through Rocky Mountain National Park to Lake Granby. This photo was taken at about 12,500 feet.

Our little vacation shack that Jen and Jeff found for us. Slightly more spacious than a sailboat.

Jeff in his wakeboard boat on one of the breezier days of our vacation. Life is hard.

Between runs.

JeffO introduced us all to landlock surfing - cramming as many people as you can find on the boat, filling the fat sacks and riding the wake on a modified short board. Once you're up you can throw in the rope and surf. Super fun. If you have QuickTime and a high speed connection, you can see my first successful run.

Jack jumping the wake. Or as Jeff says "Jiz gettin' silly on the shred stick". This is a movie clip, so it's a little blurry. There are more wakeboarding pics below.

Our hike into Rocky Mountain National Park was great except for the bugs. And occasional downpours. And lightning.
